A "Spirited"
Celebration of the
75th Anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition
Join
Tröegs Brewery and the Dauphin County
Historical Society on Friday, April 11, for a special celebration of the
75th Anniversary of the Repeal of Prohibition. The event will
be held at Tröegs Brewery from 7:30 to 11:30
p.m.
Nationally-known beer
writer Lew Bryson will be on hand to
discuss the Prohibition, tap the first keg, offer a ceremonial toast and
sign copies of his Pennsylvania
Breweries book.
“The current
microbrewery explosion pales in comparison to the number of American
breweries that existed before Prohibition,” explains Chris Trogner.
“It’s important to remember these past milestones and not lose sight of
their significance today.”
That’s enough about
Prohibition, let’s talk about the beer. We will be unveiling Scratch #11
in a firkin and on draft and serving our first-ever,
Tröegs-approved cellared beer—Scratch #4 (barleywine).
Along with the Tröegs year-round line-up we
will feature two additional firkins and a few other surprises.
The evening will
feature a light fare catered menu, along with period music by the
Hoppin John Orchestra.
The ticket fee covers
food and entertainment, and supports the Dauphin County Historical
Society. Beer will be sold by the pint.
